From what I have gathered from people n Everett, it was an a overager being frustrated and wanting to finish his WHL career in a place where there is the potential of winning, rather than being in a rebuild. Maxwell is Everett's all-time leading goal scorer. It was a position of strength for the Oil Kings who are very deep on the back end, and have some high end prospects in the pipeline. There will be another move coming of some sort as the Kings now have four 20 year olds on their roster. The WHL allows three.
